Morocco launched a national strategy for gender equality aimed at reducing the gap between men and women through the full participation of women in the development process in all fields on Thursday (18 May) in Rabat. The strategy, which was presented by the State Secretariat in charge of the Family, Childhood and Handicapped People with the technical support of the German Co-operation for Development (GTZ) organisation, proposes five intervention fields, namely civic rights, decision-making, socio-economic rights, and individual and collective behaviours to face sexist stereotypes.

State Secretary Yasmina Baddou said her department will play a key role in implementing the strategy by working out a sector plan with measures to be taken and co-ordination schemes with the different operators.
